PDK seeks new CEO
PDK International is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to serve the organization as its chief executive officer.
PDK is in the midst of a reimagining effort to develop a new strategic direction. It has contracted the strategic consulting firm, Community Wealth Partners, to assist in determining where the organization can have the greatest effect on American education and how the it can best capitalize on its core assets, including its work to develop a pipeline of future educators through its ongoing work with high school and college students, publishing Kappan magazine, and expanding the focus and reach of the annual PDK/Gallup Poll. Moving into the future will require a leader who can foster an organizational culture that is innovative, nimble, and entrepreneurial.
PDK’s current CEO William J. Bushaw is retiring after 11 years. “The new CEO will have the opportunity to work with two outstanding boards and an excellent staff of professionals, all of whom are fully committed to doing whatever is necessary to maintain the high standards of the past and launch new initiatives for the future,” Bushaw said.
Founded in 1906, Phi Delta Kappa International is the premier professional association for educators. PDK’s mission is to support education, particularly public education, as the cornerstone of democracy.
