Biography

Krissy Haynes serves as Director of Finance & Controller at PDK International, where she leads the organization’s financial strategy and oversees all accounting and financial operations. In this role, she directs the organizational budget, grant budgets, audit coordination, accounts payable and receivable, and financial forecasting, ensuring strong fiscal stewardship in support of PDK’s mission and vision. Throughout her career with educational nonprofits, she has managed financial operations and budgets around $10 million and is committed to strengthening financial systems that support long-term sustainability and program growth.

Krissy brings a diverse and nontraditional professional background to PDK. She began her career as a fifth-grade teacher before transitioning into roles as a lead software tester for Verizon Information Systems and flight attendant for Continental Airlines. She later founded I Plan Everything, a consulting business where she spent nearly nine years working with education-focused nonprofit organizations on finance, operations, executive support, and event planning. During this time, she helped organizations modernize accounting and operational systems, creating efficiencies and strengthening financial management practices.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Krissy is currently pursuing a Master of Accountancy from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and is working toward earning her CPA license. After discovering her passion for accounting through the mentorship of a trusted advisor more than a decade ago, she has focused her career on strengthening the financial foundations of mission-driven organizations. She is particularly passionate about supporting the field of education by ensuring organizations have the financial stewardship and infrastructure needed to expand their impact.
