History of the PDK Educational Foundation
Established in 1966 by George H. Reavis, the PDK Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose purposes are to support, encourage, and finance public education related activities as identified by the board of governors and to provide the agency for the receipt of charitable income and to administer the funds so received.
The foundation’s endowments are managed by Raymond James Financial Services, Bloomington, Indiana, and funds are audited each year by a professional accounting firm.
Many members and chapters have established endowed scholarships supporting current and future educators administered by PDK International staff.
The foundation’s other priorities are described in the PDK Educational Foundation annual report (PDF).
The PDK Educational Foundation is governed by the PDK Educational Foundation Board of Governors and the PDK International Board of Directors.
