Relationships and Outreach Manager
Leslie Mefford has been with PDK International since June 2000. As our Relationship and Outreach Manager, Leslie plays a critical role as a customer relations specialist for the organization providing high-touch support to members as they navigate the PDK website along with helping them in processing their membership dues over the phone. We invited her to answer four questions so that you can get to know her better.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy the satisfaction of hearing a member say, “Thank you for explaining something and taking the time to help me – you have really helped me to understand”.
If you support a cause, which is it and why is it important to you?
I have always supported St. Jude and more recently the fight for Prostate Cancer Research. It just pulls at your heart strings to know that so many children and their families are struggling and it feels good to help in any way possible.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love to read, go hiking in state parks, and take Jeep rides with my husband and family.
Can you tell us about an educator that made a difference in your life?
Mr. Holmes was an amazing teacher that I had in high school. He had the passion and love for teaching kids; he always smiled and was enthusiastic no matter what the subject. To this day, he still stops students (25 years later) just to let them know he remembers them and the impact they had on him. He taught me not only about the history of our country but the importance of making kids feel like they matter.
