PDK Advanced Degree Scholarships support students who are pursuing advanced degrees in education at the master’s, specialist, and doctoral levels. Eligible applicants must be a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Educators Rising, and/or Pi Lambda Theta. Most awards support academic work at any graduate level; a few awards only support doctoral work. You will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible. Awards range from $500 to $1500.
Before you start, please gather these components of your application:
- Transcripts as evidence of academic success. At least one transcript is required; you may include up to three, depending on your academic background. Transcripts should include the fall semester and do NOT need to be official. Please save with a file name starting with your last name, e.g., Jones_transcript.pdf.
- Statement, no longer than 500 words, addressing leadership in your professional role and how your advanced degree academic work will provide opportunities for personal and professional growth and contribute to the field of education.
- A description of your involvement, including any leadership roles you have held, with Educators Rising, Phi Delta Kappa, and/or Pi Lambda Theta. You only need to belong to ONE of these organizations.
- Letter of recommendation written by a person not related to you who is familiar with your academic abilities and leadership activities, and who can address your commitment to public education and the qualities that make you a successful educator. Please ask for this letter early, as we cannot extend the application deadline. The letter does not need to be sealed. Please save it with a file name starting with your last name, e.g., Jones_letter.pdf.
Many PDK Chapters administer scholarships at the local level. To explore additional scholarship opportunities for which you may eligible, contact your local Phi Delta Kappa Chapter.
