Key Concepts

Building on our previous work creating a playbook for communities that want to initiate a GYO strategy, and our experience throughout the country, at our summit we intend to do the following:

  • Present case studies of promising practices
  • Start the development standards of practice and implementation recommendations for HSGYO programs, aligned with Educator Preparation Programs and Certificates when applicable
  • Create a preliminary research agenda for High School GYO programs
  • Draft policy language that promotes and funds High School GYO programs

COVID-19 Protocols 

Phi Delta Kappa / Educators Rising requires all attendees and National Staff to comply with safety precautions specified below. Any person disclosing or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, or knowingly exposed to the disease, will be refused admittance to the in-person 2022 Educators Rising National Conference. Any person refusing to comply with required safety protocols will be required to leave the 2022 Educators Rising National Conference at their own expense.

  • Provide either proof of full vaccination status or a negative COVID-19 test to enter the event. Testing must be conducted within 1 day for an antigen test and 2 days for a PCR test prior to the event.
  • All unvaccinated persons are required to wear masks in all indoor public settings. Fully vaccinated individuals are recommended to continue indoor masking.
  • Wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose; AND
  • All attendees will be required to complete a COVID-19 Waiver Form; AND
  • Practice social distancing when possible.
